They all do in one way or another ! There is NO perfect ISP that much I can tell you ! Although I haven't had many issues with Verizon Fios, except for costs.

For my internet I have Verizon Fios.
For my iPhone I have AT&T.
For my TV I have Comcast Cable.

What's wrong with this picture ?

I know I should have them all under one umbrella (Cheaper) I'm a victim of circumstance. But when I bought my iPhone it was only available through AT&T,My NHL package or (Comcast Sportsnet-On Demand) was only available from Comcast. And the internet Fios I got when it first became available in my area.I wanted it for it's all fiber optic lines that go right to my home.I have family members who have had Comcast Cable TV and switched to Fios TV and they say the Fios is 10x better picture quality,so I may be switching as they now carry (Comcast Sportsnet). To get a package deal.

Addendum: I also lost my donation award of 4 Gold Bars ! I inquired about it with Steven and still No Resolution ! While everyone else still has theirs. Hmmm ? Save your Donations for Todd !!!!!

Periodically, but as we previously discussed, my current 'quality' choice [such as it is] is Comcast with theoretically plenty of speed to stream HD, etc., though based on a couple of decades of cable TV with them, I don't believe it will be anywhere near its advertised speed and they charge ~3x my budget + junk fees just because they can, so not an option.

CLEAR 4G wireless is all around me, literally, some my neighbors around me have it, but for whatever reason their two towers miss my property just enough............... They won't admit to it, but I figure it's due to me being directly below the final approach flight path to PDK's original runway [on windy days, nose gears have been known to prune the top of a tree behind my kitchen], when clear communications between pilot/terminal is crucial, ergo will never have CLEAR while it is an active runway.

For over a decade, I'd been planning a move when I reached 62 or 65 at latest to 'get away from it all', but the housing market collapse, etc. pretty much means the next move will either be to a cardboard box or an urn.

Oh yeah, I haven't had yahoo! mail since this morning and even though it gives me the option to revert back to my previous version, it's a dead link too............ Hope nothing important has come in. Guess I need to either switch some automated responses to a second email account or send to both if it's an option.

Sure can, along with many other 'baby boomers' that was relying on a paid up house to offset any retirement fund shortfall or other emergency.

XP Pro SP2. Heard so many horror stories I haven't let them install SP3. Yes, I've used OE for some email since my first Win95 computer, so have already begun adding it to any $$$ related emails where I can.

Yahoo apparently had a major meltdown today, but it's back except in 'Classic' mode. Just as well, I'd about given up on the new Beta. I like some of it's new features, but hate how they changed some others.

Yeah I just have about given up on any new software these days what they don't take into account is it's compatibility with other software that everyone has on their computers already.

I tried that Beta too, for all of about 10 seconds back I went to yahoo mail plus.Same goes for all the new browsers as well.So now if it isn't broke I'm NOT fixing it.That's why so many people stuck with XP.The new stuff has a lot of nice features but doesn't play as nice with other software.I also find that some of the new windows updates cause issues sometimes too.You really have to watch what you install these days. For instance I have this Revo Uninstaller Pro that does a thorough scan of leftover entries after uninstall.Awhile back I had to uninstall Google Sketch up,well after uninstall it left 44,000 registry entries.Took an hour and a half to remove it all.You have to check each entry to make sure you don't delete important files. Now if I just used the regular windows uninstaller it would have left all those entries on my computer. All those leftovers will slow up your computer to a crawl after numerous (installs-uninstalls).So I recommend backing up all your drives and then format the drives re-install the OS every couple of years ! After that your computer will be real fast again.I had to do that 2 summers ago due to a Malware infection. My computer was real fast again, pages loaded fast it was just quicker all around.I'm due to format again as it is slowing up,pages are freezing a bit.

Re: OT: Logging-In Issues at Altec User Board

Another day of being locked out till afternoon..........

Yeah, the buddy that has built all my computers has repeatedly reminded me about this, but only did wipe/re-install on Win98 since I kept it so long and it did make a noticeable difference, but now I've had XP long enough to no doubt need it too. Did get my Registry cleaned out awhile back though, it took him some hours using an in-house designed program they use to keep their systems tip-top since their business is extremely time sensitive.

My first priority though is to get a new portable HD w/back-up software since the old one is both quite old and now too small to hold it all. I just paid for another year of vehicle, property insurance, so will have to wait ~three weeks with only partial back-ups (deleted Windoze).
